This is a Christmas card that I made for this year and I love how it turned out. I love the old looking Santa's and the dark reds, greens and brown colors.
I used the clear cards and paper pack from Close to my Heart, "Everlasting" to put this altogether. The bottom of the card is already scalloped and I placed the green polka dot paper on the front and the backside of the bottom and cut around the curves. I then took 3 printed and one plain squares from the paper pack, distressed the edges with a distressing tool, layered and staggered them also on the front. I stamped the Santa from the stamp set "Father Christmas" and used my blending pen to color. I added 3 bitty sparkles in the berries on his head and stamped the "Merry Christmas" from the above stamp set and cut it out and put it in the lower corner. I also distressed all of the edges before assembling with Chocolate ink.
Below is a picture of the inside of the card.
I again took 3 squares of printed and plain paper and edge distressed them. On the backside of the front I put the squares where the front squares showed through the clear card. This hides the adhesive marks from the the front squares.
On the inside I covered the card and used a Colonial White mat for my Christmas message. I placed the mat so it would not show through from the front of the card. I stamped with Cranberry ink in the top left corner, and stamped the horse and sleigh from the "Snow Days" stamp set in Ponderosa Pine ink. I cut a piece of Cranberry grosgrain ribbon and attached to the left so it would show through the clear card from the front. I embellished with CTMH new "Opaques" in the Mocha colors. I also distressed with Chocolate ink around all of the edges before assembling. I covered the back of the card with matching paper to hide the adhesive marks from the inside paper.
Just using scrap pieces of paper makes the cutest cards and the clear cards are something different and the look is amazing!
